Privacy Policy

The short version

Tasklane stores the projects and tasks you create, plus the name and email from your Google account so you can sign in. If you join the waitlist, we store the email address you submit. No ads, no tracking cookies, and no selling your data. Analytics is limited to Fathom, a cookieless service that collects no personal data. We only share data with the service providers needed to run Tasklane, as described below. If you use billing, Autumn manages subscription access and Stripe processes payment details.

What we collect

  • Account info – your name, email address, and profile picture, provided by Google when you sign in, plus preferences you save such as your named timezone and completed-task cleanup schedule. We never see your Google password.
  • Your content – the projects and tasks you create, including their names, statuses, and ordering.
  • Waitlist – the email address you submit when joining the waitlist. We do not attach IP, browser, or referring-page data to your signup.
  • Technical basics – standard server logs (IP address, browser type, timestamps) kept briefly for debugging and abuse prevention.
  • Billing and usage – your account identity, subscription status, selected plan, and active project count are used to provide and reconcile plan access. Payment card details are handled by Stripe and are not stored by Tasklane.

What we don't do

  • No advertising or tracking cookies anywhere on Tasklane. Our only analytics is Fathom, which is cookieless, collects no personal data, and cannot identify you.
  • No selling, renting, or sharing your data for advertising.
  • No reading your boards except to operate the service.

Where your data lives

Authentication is handled by Better Auth running on our own infrastructure – your session data lives in our database, not with a third-party identity provider. Data is stored in a PlanetScale Postgres database and the app is hosted on Vercel. Pageview counts are processed by Fathom Analytics, which is cookieless and stores no personal data. Sign-in uses Google OAuth; Google's privacy policy applies to that step.

Subscription entitlements and project usage are processed by Autumn so Tasklane can determine plan access. Payments are processed by Stripe. Their respective privacy policies apply to the data they process.

Cookies

On Tasklane, cookies are limited to essential authentication cookies used when you sign in and while your session is active. These cookies establish, secure, and maintain your session. Our analytics (Fathom) is cookieless, so no analytics, advertising, or tracking cookies are set anywhere on Tasklane. Google may use cookies on its own domains during OAuth; Google's privacy policy applies to that step.

Your rights

You can ask for a copy of your data, ask us to remove your waitlist email, or ask us to delete your account and everything in it – email matt@mattspear.co and it'll be handled promptly. Deleting your account removes your projects, tasks, and sign-in data.

Changes

If this policy changes in any meaningful way, the date above will be updated and significant changes will be called out on this page.
